TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. Health and Safety

Ballet by Sarah-Jane take seriously their responsibility to ensure the health and safety of all participants. Teachers take appropriate measures to make sure the environment is safe for all. We will undertake risk assessments regarding premises hired and any concerns will be raised with the providers. Dance is as an active engagement as is any sport, and whilst every effort is made to avoid them, injuries can happen. The school accepts no responsibility for injuries sustained. If you have any health concerns, injuries or allergies, that may affect your participation in our classes, you must let your teacher know before taking part.

 

2. Personal belongings

Ballet by Sarah-Jane does not accept responsibility for items lost or stolen. Any personal items you bring are brought at your own risk.

 

3. Dress code

Appropriate clothing and footwear must be worn to all classes for your own safety. If attire is deemed unsafe and can have the potential to cause injury, we reserve the right to ask you to change or to sit out of class.

 

4. Appropriate Physical Contact Policy

Teaching dance is a physical activity and appropriate physical contact between students and teachers in class in essential to training. Ballet by Sarah-Jane recognise that such physical contact is a potentially complex area, and the company also fully recognizes it’s responsibilities for safeguarding students and teachers and for protecting their welfare.

 

The following principles and procedures are in place to fulfill the company’s obligations:

 

a. Contact by the teacher is made with a particular awareness of the needs of each individual to assist the dancer in correcting placement.

b. All teachers will treat any physical contact with due sensitivity and care, and with due regard for the wishes of the student.

c. Contact will not involve force or the use of any instrument.

 

5. Media Use Rights Permission

We ask students to grant permission for Ballet by Sarah-Jane to take photographs and videos of the students/classes. No personal information is ever used or linked to the photographs.

5 WEEK BEGINNERS COURSE

  • What happens next?

​

After this course you can continue to dance with us every Friday 18:30-19:30pm at Pulse Dance Studios. (Class times may change or more classes may be added depending on numbers).

  • Do I have to do this course to take part in Ballet by Sarah-Janes weekly class?​

​

No! Please not that while we recommend you complete this course first to gain a better understanding of the foundations of classical ballet and to help with your integration into our class, you do not need to to complete this course to be able to join our regular weekly ballet class. Our 18:30-19:30pm class is open to all levels. (note this class is faster paced).

MIXED LEVEL BEGINNERS BALLET

  • Who is this class for?​

 

This class is suitable for all levels. Whether you are a beginner looking to try something new, or you're a more experienced dancer looking to refine your skills, this is the class for you!

  • What should I wear?​

 

Please wear something comfortable that you can move freely in. Leotard and tights are optional, and gym wear is perfectly acceptable.

We recommend you wear ballet shoes for classes, however, socks or bare feet will be okay to begin with.

  • Who is this class for?​

 

This class is suitable for Adults that have no experience or very little experience in ballet. The course helps you to learn the foundations and build the confidence to join our regular weekly classes.
